Nature of Position: Full Time – Reporting to HHA’s Air Systems Maintenance Manager

Background

Hawker Hunter Aviation Ltd (HHA) operates UK Military Registered fast jet aircraft under Military Aviation Authority (MAA) governance from RAF Leeming, North Yorkshire. The organisation holds approvals under DAOS, MAOS (MRP Part 145), CAMO and CFAOS and supports specialist defence Test & Evaluation and operational requirements within a controlled military airworthiness environment.

Opportunity

We are seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) with a Military Fast Jet background to join our MRP Part 145 maintenance organisation.

Duties

  • Maintenance, servicing, inspection, testing and fault diagnosis of airframe, engine and associated systems fitted to or removed from HHA’s fleet of Military Registered aircraft
  • Landing gear, wheels, tyres and braking systems
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Fuel systems
  • Flight control systems
  • Environmental control and pressurisation systems
  • Oxygen systems
  • Airframe repairs to pressurised and non-pressurised structures
  • Embodiment of modifications
  • Preparation and completion of controlled maintenance documentation
  • Support to routine flight servicing activities as required

Essential Experience

  • Military Fast Jet background (applications particularly welcome from former RAF or OEM maintainers)
  • Completed MOD Phase 2 Technical Training or equivalent
    Recent experience maintaining military aircraft within an operational or depth maintenance environment
  • Strong aircraft and aviation fault-finding capability across mechanical and propulsion systems
  • Proficiency in interpreting aircraft technical manuals, engineering drawings and maintenance schematics
  • Experience completing controlled maintenance documentation accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with a logical and methodical approach

Desirable Experience

  • Previous authorisation as certifying staff on Military  Registered aircraft
  • Experience working within an MRP Part 145 or similarly regulated maintenance organisation
  • Exposure to audit, quality or compliance processes
  • Experience with Hawk, Tornado or comparable legacy fast jet platforms

Successful candidates will complete a three-month probationary period and must successfully complete relevant HHA Technical Systems Training Course(s).
